Needless to say, a healthy body and strong immune system starts with a well thought out, balanced diet. Eating lots of processed foods, fast foods and sweets will increase your body fat content resulting into unhealthy weight gain.

2. Plenty of exercise
Exercise is another way to keep your body fit, healthy and strong. However, for you to stay motivated and maintain a proper workout regime throughout the year, you need to make a few adjustments. First, get rid of the repetitive exercise routine that made you give up early last year. Include new and fun workouts routines in your exercise plan. This will see you looking forward to your exercise sessions every day. You can also try taking different classes of exercises such as kickboxing, jogging, yoga or Pilates. When spicing up your exercise, anything goes –zumba classes, ballroom dancing, salsa, and are also allowable.
3. Manage your stress levels
Stress is a very big factor in breaking down your immune system. Do your best to avoid stressful situations and minimize interactions with people that have potential to increase your stress. Get plenty of rest, practice meditation and yoga –these will help you release negative energy and refocus your mind.
4. Avoid refined sugar and alcohol
Keep your sugar intake to the very minimum considering that one teaspoonful of refined sugar has been known to lower the immune system for up to 6 hours. Cases of sugar-related high blood pressure and diabetes are all too common in our current generation. Additionally, opt for water, tea or freshly squeezed fruit juice instead of alcohol. Regular alcohol intake tasks your body in metabolizing the alcohol robbing the body of its ability to process germs and toxins.
